Poker with a Purpose 2006 |
It may seem odd to
associate poker and
infants, but at Poker
with a Purpose, “when
you go all in, the
babies win,” was the
night’s slogan. More
than 150 brought their
game faces and showcased
their poker skills at
Pinnacle Financial
Services’ Texas Hold’em
tournament benefiting
March of Dimes, Aug. 25,
2006.
Poker with a Purpose
players contended for
$10,000 in prizes, while
every guest was welcome
to participate in the
many activities such as
side games, buffet, open
bar, silent auction,
raffle, and a live band.
Pinnacle has
successfully launched
three fund-raisers for
March of Dimes, this
year with a success of
$30,000 in donations.
Because of dedicated
volunteers and donors,
March of Dimes has made
strides in eliminating
infant prematurity – and
that is Poker with a
Purpose’s purpose.

Friends of Kids With Cancer 2006
|
Accompanying many large contributors and even more golfers, Pinnacle donated time and funds to Friends of Kids with Cancer’s 8th annual golf tournament held May 22, 2006. This worthy organization is devoted to enriching the lives of children undergoing treatment for cancer and blood-related diseases. With contributions and charity events such as the golf tournament, Friends of Kids with Cancer helps create a positive mental outlook that is as vital to these young victims as the treatment itself.
Rather than research, Friends of Kids with Cancer focuses on creating hope and comfort. Such hope is cultivated through programs such as providing special toys to bone marrow transplant recipients during their six-week isolation, art therapy, educational programs, Munchie Mondays to boost moral before another grueling week of chemotherapy, and many more.

Katrina Relief 2005 |
After the gulf’s tragic wave of hurricanes in 2005, Pinnacle and its employees united in helping those at the center of disaster. Many organizations, businesses and individuals also responded to Katrina with generous monetary donations. Others chose to donate tangible materials such as school supplies, clothing, diapers, food, toiletries, and even their homes to house evacuees.
Pinnacle participated in a food and clothing drive after the first of the hurricanes hit the gulf coast. With the help of employees, Pinnacle loaded a minivan with bags and boxes of donated items. All donations were delivered to Services International, a non-profit organization that sent many teams of volunteers to the coast with supplies, encouragement and cleanup relief.
Thank you to our employees for an outstanding job in serving the community.

Strike A Pose 2005 |
In the spirit of holiday giving, Pinnacle hosted its second annual charity event at Lucky Strike Lanes on December 11, 2005. Over 300 of Pinnacle’s customers, friends and family attended this bowling event and children’s fashion show emceed by Y98’s Kelly Corday. Bowlers enjoyed lunch, bid on auction items, and met Santa – all to raise money for March of Dimes.
For the second consecutive year, Pinnacle elected March of Dimes as its philanthropy event’s benefactor because both organizations are committed to the betterment of family and healthy babies. Many of our employees’ families involved their children in helping this worthy cause by participating in the children’s fashion show. The twins of president and founder Todd Solomon also walked down the runway as models and witnesses to March of Dimes’ remarkable work.
Thank you to all who were able to attend and/or donate in support of helping save our community’s tiniest citizens.

Roll of Dimes 2004 |
Since the March of Dimes inception, they have funded 11 Nobel Prize winners for life-saving research for babies. They were the sole benefactor in the cure for polio and now combat the growing threat of infant prematurity with research, awareness and education.
As Pinnacle searched for an organization to be our first charity event’s benefactor, March of Dimes stood out among many. Pinnacle chose March of Dimes because it is the premier, non-profit organization dedicated to funding life-saving research for babies. More than 200 attendees, including many who were personally affected by March of Dimes research, bowled at Pinnacles inaugural philanthropy event in August 2004.
